Beta Notice: PetFinderNetwork.org and its volunteer coordination tools are in active development. Features, accuracy, and mission functions may change as improvements are released. Traditional lost pet recovery methods should continue to be used alongside TailTracker tools.

1. Overview

These Terms govern your use of PetFinderNetwork.org (the “Site”) and participation in the Lost Pet Finder Network (the “Finder Network”). By creating an account, receiving alerts, submitting sightings, or participating in recovery activities, you agree to these Terms.

2. Organizational Relationship

PetFinderNetwork.org is operated by the Lost Pet Finder Network, a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status pending. The Finder Network uses technology services provided by TailTracker Public Benefit Corp. (“TailTracker”) to support volunteer coordination, sighting intake, mapping, and mission functions.

TailTracker retains ownership of its software, trademarks, and platform features. Use of the Site does not grant any license to TailTracker intellectual property beyond what is required to use the Services.

3. Eligibility and Volunteer Conduct

By using the Site or participating in the Finder Network, you agree to:

Be at least 13 years old
Provide accurate account and profile information
Follow all laws (traffic, trespass, search safety)
Respect private property and obtain permission when required
Act safely and responsibly during missions
Submit truthful sightings and mission information

4. Proper Use of the Services

No harassment, threats, or unsafe conduct
No attempting to access unauthorized mission data
No commercial activity, solicitation, or advertising
No misuse of mission alerts, including false reports
No impersonation or misrepresentation

5. Technology, Accounts, and Data

Your Finder profile, alerts, and mission activity are stored using TailTracker’s technical systems. Information may be shared between the nonprofit and TailTracker solely to support mission operations, security, and platform improvement.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

6. No Guarantee of Results

Lost pet recovery is inherently unpredictable. The Site and mission tools provide guidance and coordination but make no guarantee of locating any pet or achieving a particular outcome.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

The nonprofit and TailTracker Public Benefit Corp. are not responsible for the conduct of volunteers, pet owners, or third parties.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the nonprofit, TailTracker Public Benefit Corp., and their staff, directors, contractors, and volunteers are not liable for:

Indirect or consequential damages
Inaccurate or incomplete mission information
Personal injury, property damage, or losses arising from participation
Actions of other volunteers, pet owners, or the public

9. Account Suspension or Removal

We may suspend or remove accounts for safety violations, misuse of the system, false reports, fraud, or any conduct that undermines trust in the Finder Network.

10. Updates to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acceptance.
